Abuja Hip Hop to the World
Mannie Tseayo is an alternative artist from Abuja, Nigeria who is well versed in prominent genres like hip hop, amapiano, boom bap rap and R&B. We discovered Mannie years ago with her seminal hit Old Ways with fellow Abuja Native ODUMODU BLVCK. Her song Good Sex became one of our downtempo favourites, and with her new EP The Grey Deluxe, she has undoubtedly become one of our new favourite female artists.

Describing Grey: The Midtone, Mannie Tseayo is on a journey to understanding duality and the importance of balance. The world is perceived as black or white, good or bad but Mannie explores and discovers that one cannot exist without the other – therefore we all have dark and light moments that make us grey. On the deluxe Mannie adds dashes of colour to the greyscale using uptempo beats and thought provoking lyrics in tracks like the Amapiano version of Boss, How Far, and Andromeda Vibes to take listeners on journeys from vulnerability to the audacious confidence expected of a boom bap rapper.

Mannie Tseayo’s Genre Fluid Music and Influences
Mannie Tseayo’s songs often straddle the line of sensuality, androgynous love and sexual tension, and describe the gritty reality of an emerging African artist trying to find a balance in the music industry amidst tumultuous personal relationships. With club bangers like “Boss, How far?’ that are sure to turn necks and keep heads nodding and bodies bumping. Her collaboration with OG Mage, another Abuja Native on Andromeda Vibes leaves listeners in awe of her vocal range, rap skills and general artistry. She posseses a style that incorporates sensual sounds that gives the listeners a soothing feeling and a sense of relaxation coupled with warm and well composed videos and visualizers inspired by anime, Greek mythology and the urban bustle of life in Abuja.

Grey: The Deluxe project by Mannie sees some very well put together features from artists such as Rebelwav, FeyoTheGenius and frequent collaborator HYBRIDTRIPS.
